Boxing Boots
Boxing is notably one of the oldest sports ever
known to man. The ancient Greeks must have found a way to make what
seemed as just a fistfight into a more challenging spectacle. Do
you ever wonder what do boxers wear during those times to protect
their feet from the rough pavement, lest they not only hurt their
face and body but their feet as well? Did the boxers ever wear
boxing boots or just mere sandals strap to their
legs?
Today, boxing is still an ever-popular sport as
it was in the olden times. If other sports have launched copious
sports icons, this sport too has its own share of the limelight.
More than ever the luminaries of boxing have increasingly inspired
upcoming prizefighters who are determined to carved their name in
the historical pages as champions or otherwise. For them boxing
which is a popular sport for those who have less in life during the
Depression Era, considered the sport as their only ticket to earn
because of the irresistible prizefights at stake.
Like many other sports boxing too, is one that
is never to be outdone when it comes to fashion apparel or get-ups.
For in the field of boxing aside from the gloves and the trunks
(the pair of knee-length short pants that boxers wore), they also
have to wear a good pair of boxing boots to
protect their feet from any unprecedented injury above the ring. No
wonder no player is ever allowed to play without donning their
boxing boots. Even during training boxers have to get used to their
boots before the competition takes place.
Sports apparel companies like Nike, Adidas,
Everlast, Gel, and Title are some of the big names that supply the
market with top of the line boxing boots. The price of a pair of
boots ranges from $30-$50, but for the higher ends the price can
climb as much as $120. If want to feel like Muhammad then you have
got to prepare your most comfortable boxing boots, other wise you
will just hurt you toes and feet during the training and in the
actual competition.
When women were allowed to play boxing, they too
have to wear their own pair of boxing boots. Today
there are more designs and color available for women, without
putting aside the comfort, which is the topmost concern that boxers
look for in their boots. Leila Ali, the most popular lady boxer we
have today must have a dozen of boots by now. These boots are now
becoming one of lady boxer’s many prized possessions in this chosen
sport.
So if you are planning to try the water in boxing then you should
be looking your pair of boots by now. Whether your goal is to
become an athlete or just for exercise, the boots are still a
necessity.
